Everyday we guess what is for lunch/dinner and we always hope for lasagna since we have not had lasagna yet. Tuesday, we finally got lasagna for lunch..by far the best meal yet. It was incredible. I was full all day long. On Wednesday, we headed off to Florence again for our weekly field trip. We toured the Museo dell'Opera di Santa Maria di Fiore and the Galileo Museum. I liked this day much much better than our last frozen experience in Florence although it was still pretty chilly. We saw a lot of interesting tools and displays of what Galileo actually used at the Galileo Museum--even his decaying finger... When we got back from the field trip, we had dinner and we even got dessert!! For the first time ever. It was sort of like a brownie but more cake like with powder sugar topping. We will be headed to Ravenna and Bologna this weekend for a personal travel experience with 17 people in our group. We will spend Friday in Ravenna and then traveling to Bologna for the Friday and Saturday night. Bologna is boasted as the "culinary capitol of Italy" and also the origin of lasagna and tortellini. Our train departs at 530 AM..rough awakening at 4 am ahead! Very excited though! Also, we have heard rumors from a lot of locals that there is currently 9 meters of snow in Bologna...

the wood in this cross is from the crucifixion cross of Jesus. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is beautiful with all of the emeralds and rubies.
