Our weekly field trip was to Orvieto, a town an hour north of Rome. This is also where the other group of k-state students is studying. We started off touring the Duomo of Orvieto where it was freezing inside. Then we toured the underground cave of Orvieto. I was a little scared it would be even colder inside since it was underground but it was way warmer than the Duomo. We climbed through some pretty tight spaces and staircases. The cave was actually a lot of fun to see. They used to store goods inside specific caves and now families have private wine cellers inside the caves. After we were done touring we met up with the other k-state students and watched the annual santa chiara vs. orvieto soccer game played between the students. It was a really nice, sunny day and was great to sit out in the sun. We had a group dinner at Sfizio's, their favorite pizza place in Orvieto. Some of us stayed the night there since they have apartments with extra beds and were able to spend more time hanging out with them. Orvieto is a bit bigger than Castiglion with a lot more options as far as stores, restaurants and night life.
fried chicken at the study center, not as good as the kind my mom makes. it needed some more spices in the breading but i still enjoyed it.
