The other day for lunch we trekked down to a pizza place that we have been hearing so much about from other students. It was down the hill and across a highway but it was well worth the walk. We have been pretty busy with school and class work so I don't have very many interesting stories. Here are some pictures of the food I have had recently...
the pizza place
my pizza with spicy salame, artichokes, ham, black olives, sausage, mushrooms. very tasty
chloe's pizza with ham, mushrooms, black olives, and artichokes
wait for it..
hot chocolate sauce came running out from the inside. chocolate cake with strawberries and a swipe of vanilla custard on the side. pretty delicious for our first restaurant dessert in Italy.
cake for dessert at the study center. it had custard filling in the center and cake layers on top and bottom. On top of the cake there is a layer of nuts as well as powdered sugar. I would definitely try to attempt this at home, it was pretty good.

Things are about to get busy again with a field trip to Assisi on Wednesday. We will take a bus at 830am which is way nicer than walking all the way to the train station at 7am. Friday, we are going to Lucca and Pisa. We will most likely spend Friday in Pisa and stay the night in Lucca. Saturday night we will return to Santa Chiara. Then Tuesday of next week we will head to Venice for another Tues-Fri field trip. We will have Friday to go visit nearby Verona (location of Shakesphere's Romeo and Juliet). Our flight to Madrid for spring break is on that Saturday. From Madrid we will travel to Barcelona for Tuesday-Sunday. All in one backpack..yikes.

  1. You should be a pro at minimal packing by now!! The food looks really good I would love to try some of the dessert especially the custard ones!! So with all the travel I will probably have blog withdrawls once again :o). Have fun and take lots of pictures.
